Young children can use books as a form of entertainment as well as a form of learning. Reference books such as encyclopedias, dictionaries and atlases are an essential educational resource that can be used to make learning fun as children are always keen to learn new facts about places, people and objects. But story books are great too at this age as they can enhance a childs love of reading that hopefully will last their lifetime.
